How We Started

A notebook, a pen, and a big idea

In 2022, our founder Kai Tanaka was struggling with burnout. He'd tried every productivity app, every habit tracker, every motivational system. Nothing stuck.

Then he went back to basics: a simple paper checklist on his desk with three habits. Just three. Mark them every day. That's it. Within 60 days, his energy, focus, and happiness had transformed.

The insight was clear: it wasn't about features or gamification or analytics. It was about showing up daily and seeing simple, honest evidence of your effort. Tracking Tools is that paper checklist — made digital, beautiful, and accessible from anywhere.
